The finishing touches

As the final step, I coated the whole sculpture in silicone instead of making a large sheet of it to stretch over, as I initially planned, because I felt it would make more sense. Skin should be on skin. The head was made by scrunching up newspaper into a ball which was then painted black and then a wig was attached using hot glue. Very sophisticated techniques. Overall, I'm very happy with how this turned out because I took a huge risk since I've never made anything on such a big scale. I felt that this sculpture reflects what I had originally set out to achieve: to draw in the viewer through sheer curiousity and immediately have them recoil in disgust.
